About Tom Kellett & TK Arts

Tom Kellett is a professionally qualified, award-winning, youth and community worker with over twenty five years of experience.
He has always had a passion for the Arts. From school drama, he went on to join and form youth theatre companies, specialising in Street Theatre, Forum Theatre and Theatre in Education. He has also juggled his way across Europe and Australia, and performed and taught on circus tours across the UK.

Tom established TK Arts in January 2013, after being made redundant from his Youth Arts Worker post for Kent County Council.

Through his experience, Tom is able to quickly engage and build a rapport with young participants, empowering and inspiring them to explore their creative potential through circus skills workshops, drama workshops and street theatre projects.
Through his circus skills and theatre work, Tom has brought about life-changing experiences to a significant number of young people. Although they may not perform well at more traditional subjects, many of them excel in Youth Arts.
Instead of failing, they quickly discover that they’re able to do it and become empowered by their own success. Not only do the young people perform better but they have a desire to perform better.
Young people have ‘found’ themselves, identified how they can be successful and recognised for such, which has then had a positive impact on their attitude, behaviour and academic success.
Helping young people to find that desire and to further their creative potential has always been paramount in Tom’s work.

In 2007, Tom was presented with the Individual Gold Award at Kent County Council’s Quality Service Awards, within the Communities Directorate (the largest Directorate with over 6000 employees).
